BULLET FOR MY VALENTINE: Top 5 Debuts In Japan, Germany, Australia, UK
February 4, 2008The new BULLET FOR MY VALENTINE album, "Scream Aim Fire", has achieved the following first-week chart positions so far:
Japan: #1
Germany: #3
Australia: #4
United Kingdom: #5
BULLET FOR MY VALENTINE is on track to sell between 45,000 and 50,000 copies of "Scream Aim Fire" in the United States in its first week on shelves, according to Hits Daily Double. That puts the Welsh hard rockers in contention for the Number One slot on the Billboard 200 album chart, where it's battling for the top spot with ALICIA KEYS, the "Juno" soundtrack, a Grammy nominees compilation and a new effort from the MARS VOLTA. However, topping the chart this week will be a less than impressive feat, since early sales figures indicate that this week's Number One album will be the lowest-selling in modern chart history.
A Number One debut might still be sweet for BULLET singer Matt Tuck, who told The Pulse of Radio that making the disc was a difficult process. "Yeah, totally, every day for the last eight months, prior to it getting actually mixed and mastered and finished, it was like just a never-ending struggle every day, really," he said. "But, you know, it's definitely worth the work."
"Scream Aim Fire" arrived in stores last Tuesday (January 29).
First-week sales figures will arrive later this week.
The CD follows up the group's acclaimed 2006 full-length debut, "The Poison", which has sold 375,000 copies in the U.S.
BULLET FOR MY VALENTINE will join AVENGED SEVENFOLD and ATREYU on this winter's Taste of Chaos tour beginning on February 29 in Denver.
